José Javier Rodríguez and DOL Award YouthBuild Grants

José Javier Rodríguez (’06), Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor, was quoted in a DOL news release announcing the award of $98 million in grants to 72 organizations in 30 states to provide training and expand access to apprenticeships (“Department of Labor Awards $98M in Grants to Support Training, Employment Services to Young People, Increase Apprenticeships in High-Demand Careers,” May 2). “The YouthBuild grants we’re awarding today will help young people acquire the skills and training needed to access the good-paying jobs created by President Biden’s Investing in America agenda,” José said. “These investments make sure youth and young adults can share in the opportunities the administration is creating and make a better future for themselves no matter their background.”
