Rebekah Cook-Mack Calls on Mayor Adams to Fund NYC’s Human Rights Commission

Rebekah Cook-Mack (’08), Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society, was quoted in POLITICO’s New York Playbook discussing a joint letter to Mayor Adams co-signed by a dozen legal organizations urging Mayor Adams to increase funding for the city’s understaffed Human Rights Commission (“Adams: Feds Playing ‘A Game’ with Funding,” Mar. 13). Citing the current wait time for an intake appointment of six months, Rebekah noted, “If you’ve been the victim of discrimination, that’s long enough for you to lose your employment. And if you can’t keep your job and you’re a low-income person, housing is the next domino to fall.”
