Eve Stotland Funds NYC Programs Assisting Asylum Seekers

Eve Stotland (’99), Senior Program Officer at The New York Community Trust, was quoted in  the Chronicle of Philanthropy discussing how nonprofit organizations are filling the gap in funding for asylum-seeker services and her organization’s role in distributing more than $2.7 million in grants to related nonprofits since 2022 (“Girl Scout Troop Resolved to Support Migrants Despite Backlash,” Mar. 1). “It’s hard for the government to be that nimble — that’s a great place for nonprofits and philanthropy,” Eve said. “These are our neighbors. If a funder’s goal is to make New York City a better place for everyone, that includes newcomers.”
