Shakti Belway (’05), Executive Director of the National Center for Youth Law, authored an article for Medium sharing a special Valentine’s Day message for children around the world, urging adults to honor young people’s calls for peace (“A Love Letter, to Young People Across the World,” Feb. 14). “[T]here are children all over the world who suffer because of adult choices, decisions uninformed by the needs, perspectives and experiences of the children who will be impacted. Choices made by adults, whether in their communities, in the public systems upon which they rely, or by policymakers — choices all made about them, without them. . . . You, dear children, deserve much more. Please know that some of us hear you — and we’ll continue doing our best to get the rest of the grown-ups to unite with you.”
