Dale Margolin Cecka Backs Laws Restricting Anonymous Reports to Child Protective Agencies

Dale Margolin Cecka (’04), Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Family Violence Litigation Clinic at Albany Law School, was quoted by The Imprint supporting recent laws in California and Texas curbing anonymous reports to child protective services (“More States Seek to Curb Anonymous CPS Reports against Parents,” Nov. 7). Among the first to document anonymous reporting in a 2014 law journal article, Dale noted, “You’ve got to start somewhere and this one is a pretty quick fix. I don’t think it’s hard to get most people on board with the idea that anonymous reports usually do nothing but open up families to needless investigation.”
