Kevin Kish Launches California Network to Combat Increasing Hate Crimes

Kevin Kish (’06), Director of the California Civil Rights Department, coauthored a commentary for The San Diego Union-Tribune discussing the launch of California vs. Hate Resource Line and Network, a statewide reporting and resource line for victims of hate incidents and hate crimes (“To Address Rising Hate Crimes, the Government Must Build Trust with Communities of Color,” Nov. 16). “[L]aws on the books are simply not enough. We are investing in other ways to prevent, respond to and heal from hate and discrimination. Time and again, we have seen Californians step forward to enforce civil rights protections, denounce hate, combat bias and discrimination, and make our state more just and equitable for all. With CA vs. Hate, we look forward to helping more Californians do just that.”
