Heather Way (’97), Clinical Professor and Co-Director of the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, was quoted in an Austin NPR KUT 90.5 piece discussing newly-approved city ordinances allowing Austin tenants more time to pay rent and protecting their right to organize (“Austin Renters Will Get Time to Pay Overdue Rent before Facing Eviction,” Oct. 27, updated Oct. 28). “Right now tenants are under some of the greatest pressures they’ve ever been in our city and their leverage for change is much more limited. It’s more important now than ever that we give them tools to be able to speak out against landlord abuses and misconduct.”
