John Tye Represents Twitter Whistleblower

John Tye (’06), Founder and Executive Director at Whistleblower Aid, was quoted by CNN discussing client Peiter “Mudge” Zatko’s whistleblower complaint concerning Twitter leadership’s misrepresentations to federal regulators and its board of directors of data privacy and cybersecurity vulnerabilities (“Ex-Twitter Exec Blows the Whistle, Alleging Reckless and Negligent Cybersecurity Policies,” Aug. 23). In the disclosure citing “egregious deficiencies, negligence, willful ignorance, and threats to national security and democracy,” Zatko turned to the SEC “to help the agency enforce the laws,” John said. “The prospect of a reward was not a factor in Mudge’s decision, and in fact he didn’t even know about the reward program when he decided to become a lawful whistleblower.”
