Sam Williamson Supports Maryland’s Trans Health Equity Act of 2022

Sam Williamson (’20), current Fellow with Homeless Persons Representation Project, was quoted in the Washington Blade celebrating the passage of the Trans Health Equity Act of 2022 out of Maryland’s House Health and Government Operations Committee and on to the House floor (“Transgender Health Care Bill Passes in Md. House Committee,” Mar. 25). Discussing a rally organized by Trans Maryland, Annapolis Pride, Baltimore Safe Haven and other advocacy groups in support of the legislation, Sam noted, “It was a beautiful expression of trans resilience and pride at a time when so many states are attacking trans rights. . . . This bill will save lives and bring Maryland Medicaid up-to-date with the leading medical standards for gender-affirming care.”
