Dãnia Davy Advocates for Black Farmers Facing Uncertain Future of Debt Relief

Dãnia Davy (’08), Director of Land Retention and Advocacy for the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund, was quoted in The New York Times regarding the legal fight blocking American Rescue Plan debt relief for Black farmers as the U.S.D.A. issues conflicting messages on foreclosures (“Black Farmers Fear Foreclosure as Debt Relief Remains Frozen,” Feb. 21). Spotlighting the increased difficulty accessing credit and compounded financial problems created in the wake of debt relief uncertainty, Dãnia stated, “It has definitely caused a very significant panic and a lot of distress among our members.”
