Leigh Goodmark Advocates for Survivors of Intimate-Partner Violence

Leigh Goodmark (’95), Professor of Law and Co-Director, Clinical Law Program at the University of Maryland School of Law, was quoted in a New York Times article regarding Home Free, an organization that advocates and provides housing for survivors of intimate-partner violence who have been imprisoned for actions relating to their abusive partners (“After Lives Fraught With Pain, Housing That Says ‘You’re Worthy,’” Oct. 11). Leigh noted that “there are still a vast number of criminal attorneys who don’t understand how intimate-partner violence creates the context for a crime.”
