Rose Carmen Goldberg Reflects on Saying Goodbye to Her Dad

Rose Carmen Goldberg (’16), California Deputy Attorney General and Lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Law, shared an opinion in The San Diego Union-Tribune recounting her family’s ritual honoring the passing of her father (“My Dad Died Alone during the Pandemic. Months Later, We Finally Said Goodbye.” Sep. 23). “Then the lake was ours. We tiptoed in the mud, clutching the box. Afraid to slip. Afraid to find the right spot to start to empty our little box. We moved to position ourselves firmly in the ground, to put the wind at our backs. And then we stood still, watching the cattails wave us on.”
