Nina Perales (’90), Senior Vice President of Litigation for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, was quoted in The Texan on representing multiple plaintiffs including the Anti-Defamation League, the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas and individuals in a federal civil rights lawsuit challenging Texas Senate Bill 1 (“Civil Rights Groups File Lawsuit against Texas Election Bill Approved by Legislature,” Sep. 3). “SB1 will reduce voter participation and discriminate on the basis of race, and for those reasons it should be struck down in court.”
