Terri Gerstein Promotes Paid Sick Leave for Covid Vaccinations

Terri Gerstein (’95), Director of the State and Local Enforcement Project at the Harvard Law School Labor and Worklife Program, coauthored a piece for The Nation, addressing flatlining vaccination rates and the necessity of enacting paid sick leave for essential worker vaccinations (“There’s a Way to Get More People Vaccinated—and It Doesn’t Involve the Lottery,” July 1). “[C]ommunity organizations that are already interwoven in community life and workers’ lives will be critical to getting essential workers vaccinated. . . . [G]iven all workers have experienced, they deserve targeted approaches focused on their specific situations. Adequate paid sick leave laws and collaboration with trusted worker organizations are commonsense solutions that will actually move the dial toward increasing vaccination rates of working people throughout the United States.”
