Militza Pagán (’17), Staff Attorney at Shriver Center on Poverty Law, was quoted on NPR’s WBEZ Chicago celebrating a victory on behalf of her client, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, after the Biden Administration’s DOJ filed a motion to dismiss its defense of the public charge rule that was expanded under President Trump (“Immigration Advocates From Illinois Celebrate The End Of The Expanded Public Charge Rule,” Mar. 11, updated Mar. 23). “Today immigrants no longer have to choose between their immigration status and their family’s health and well-being because we can now celebrate the end of the Trump administration’s cruel policy against poor immigrants of color.”
