Karen Tumlin Celebrates DACA Win and Calls for Congress to Pass Law Paving Firm Path to Citizenship

Karen Tumlin (’05), Founder of the Justice Action Center, was quoted in The Washington Post after U.S. District Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis moved to restore DACA, ordering the Department of Homeland Security to post a public notice to accept first-time applications and ensure that work permits are valid for two years (“Federal Judge Restores DACA, Orders DHS to Accept First-Time Applications from Immigrants,” Dec. 4). “This is a day that DACA recipients and young people have waited for for far too long. It’s a reminder, as always, that what we really need is a permanent solution.”
