Rose Carmen Goldberg Discusses Hope for Veterans in a New Era

Rose Carmen Goldberg (’16), California Deputy Attorney General and Lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Law, contributed an opinion piece to the San Francisco Examiner discussing Biden and Harris’ commitment to combatting military sexual assault as well as their proposals for veterans, including “immediate” access to mental health services for veterans in crisis, outreach initiatives aimed at removing the stigma associated with mental health treatment, and a presumption of eligibility for VA health care and housing for veterans with bad paper discharges (“With the Biden-Harris Administration on the Horizon, There’s Reason for Hope This Veterans Day,” Nov. 10). “The federal government has long made promises to care for veterans that it simply doesn’t keep. . . . This Veterans Day, let’s embrace this rare opportunity for optimism. But let’s also keep up the heat.”
