Nina Kohn’s Testimony Cited in NBC News Opinion on Britney Spears’ Conservatorship

Nina Kohn (’03), Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law and a faculty affiliate with the Syracuse University Aging Studies Institute, was mentioned in an NBC News opinion that discussed the dangers of long-term conservatorships and referenced Nina’s testimony to the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging (“Britney Spears’ Conservatorship Can Be Both Totally Legal and Quite Bad for Her. Many Are.” Nov. 14). “An important part of Kohn’s testimony was that often even unintentional harm comes from these relationships: To strip a person of her agency can’t help but be abusive, even when fiduciaries are doing their jobs.”
