Carrie Bettinger-López Gathers Data to Support Domestic Violence Survivors in Pandemic

Carrie Bettinger-López (’04), Professor and Director of the University of Miami School of Law Human Rights Clinic, was quoted in the Miami Herald regarding the pandemic-driven need for increased support for survivors of domestic violence and her clinic’s partnership with the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council of Miami-Dade County collecting information about domestic violence nonprofits, with an aim to develop policy recommendations (“Domestic Violence Survivors Need More Help Than Ever during Pandemic,” Oct. 29). “Access to public transportation, childcare, schooling, those issues are top of mind for most survivors right now. We need to look at all of the places survivors say they need help.”
