Rose Carmen Goldberg Supports CA Legislation Allowing Military Sexual Assault Cases to Proceed in Civilian Court

Rose Carmen Goldberg ('16), California Deputy Attorney General and Lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Law, co-authored an opinion piece for The Orange County Register detailing a sharp increase in military sexual assaults and proposed legislation limiting the Feres doctrine which holds related claims "incident to service" ("California Should Take the Lead in Tackling the Military's Sexual Assault Epidemic," May 8). "Service members are selflessly going out into the danger of the coronavirus crisis to help us access food, shelter, and medicine. The least we can do to thank them is give military sexual assault survivors access to the courts."
