Paul Sonn Spurs State and Local Governments to Fill the Worker Protection Void in the Wake of OSHA's Inaction

Paul Sonn ('94), State Policy Program Director for NELP, co-authored a report providing model policy language for governors, state legislatures and local governments to create Covid-19 worker protections in response to the lack of federal mandates ("Protecting Worker Safety & Health in the Covid Crisis: A State & Local Model Policy Response," Apr. 23). "It is clear that a voluntary approach to worker safety is not mitigating this public health disaster. Communities of color are paying the price for this federal failure. It is therefore crucial that state and local policymakers step up to protect workers and the general public in this pandemic."
