Heather Way ('97), Professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, co-authored a piece for the Houston Chronicle urging broader state eviction protection policies and emergency housing assistance for Texas renters ("Texas Must Do More to Protect Renters During the COVID-19 Crisis," May 1). "Unless bold actions are taken by our state and local governments, an unprecedented number of renters could soon lose their place to live. … State and local officials need to act now to adopt stronger, and longer, eviction protections and help tenants pay their rent."
