Ben Sachs Calls on Congress to Give Workers Voice in Shaping Health and Safety Protocols

Ben Sachs ('99), Professor of Labor and Industry at Harvard Law School, co-authored an issue brief for the Roosevelt Institute regarding a path to public health that gives workers a voice in workplace policy, a call for congressional action and the need for sector-based, labor-management commissions in establishing industry standards ("How and Why to Empower Workers in the Covid-19 Response," Apr. 2020). "This crisis has laid bare our economy's various, deep-rooted weaknesses, which long predated the pandemic. … Sectoral commissions and workplace councils can pave the way toward more democratic workplaces, and a more equal and resilient economy, when this crisis finally ends."
