Susan Pearlstein Spotlights Judicial Support for Abuse Survivors

Former Fellow Susan Pearlstein (’98), the co-supervisor of the family law unit of Philadelphia Legal Assistance, was quoted for an article in The New York Times as part of the paper’s partnership with The Fuller Project (“For Abused Women, a Pandemic Lockdown Holds Dangers of Its Own,” March 24). Explaining that obtaining a legal protection order is considered an essential service by most jurisdictions, Susan said, “Many courts are trying to have access open for domestic violence survivors and to allow order petitions of abuse or restraining orders to be filed” via phone or email.
