Ajmel Quereshi and Cara McClellan Urge School Funding Bill

Former Fellows Ajmel Quereshi (’08), a senior counsel at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Cara McClellan (’17), assistant counsel at the organization, wrote a commentary in the Baltimore Sun addressing a $342 million annual “adequacy gap” in educational funding, as determined by the state constitution (“State Continues To Ignore Court Order To Properly Fund Baltimore Schools,” Feb. 20). “Baltimore children cannot depend on the continued outsourcing of public education to private charity while the state fails to fulfill its constitutional responsibility,” Ajmel and Cara stated.
