Former Fellow Cynthia Godsoe (’99), a professor at Brooklyn Law School, joined 44 other justice reform experts in an open letter defending bail reform laws and criticizing one-sided news coverage of them, which was detailed by the Queens Daily Eagle (“Law Professors Condemn Bail Reform ‘Fear-Mongering’ in Letter to Local Media,” Jan. 27). “Within days of the law taking effect, many local outlets began a barrage of cherry-picked stories designed to stoke panic,” the letter stated.
