Conchita Cruz Reunites Family and Prepares for Asylum Case

Fellow Conchita Cruz (’18), an attorney at the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project, reported for a CBS News story on her work to help a Guatemalan mother pursuing asylum in the U.S. who was unlawfully deported without her teenage son (“Migrant Parents Deported Without Their Children Make Historic Return to the US,” Jan. 23). “Leticia's son is actually the last child in government custody whose parent is eligible to reunite with him. So, as soon as Leticia settles in this week, we will be petitioning for her to reunite with her son,” Conchita noted.
