Former Fellow Cassie Chambers (’16) wrote a personal essay about parenting in The New York Times (“Grieving My Mother as I Became a Mother,” Jan. 7). Documenting for her son her mother’s impact, Cassie wrote, “She had me while she was a young college student and worked hard to graduate with me by her side. ... The value she taught me to place on education led me far beyond the eastern Kentucky hills to the halls of Harvard, Yale and the London School of Economics.”
