Toby Merrill Comments on DeVos Being Fined for Contempt of Court

Former Fellow Toby Merrill (’12) was quoted in a New York Times article ("Betsy DeVos Is Held in Contempt Over Judge's Order on Loan Collection," Oct. 24) about a federal judge's ruling holding Education Secretary Betsy DeVos in contempt of court for violating an order to stop collecting on loans owed by former students of a now-defunct for-profit chain of colleges. “Secretary DeVos has repeatedly and brazenly violated the law to collect for-profit college students’ debts and deny their rights, and today she has been held accountable,” Toby said.
