Former Fellow Rose Carmen Goldberg (’16) published a letter in The Washington Post calling for an end to the prohibition barring U.S. military members from pursuing tort actions against the military, including lawsuits challenging the Defense Department’s failure to police sexual assault (“Service Members Should Be Able To Sue the Defense Department,” Sept. 17). “Service members need a mechanism to challenge the Defense Department’s assault culture, to hold the military accountable for failing to implement policies that prevent assault,” Rose wrote.
