Former Fellow Terri Gerstein (’95) co-authored an article in The Hill raising questions about the recent pledge by members of the Business Roundtable to focus on more than just shareholder profits (“Major Companies Have to Prioritize Workers in New Corporate Missions,” Aug. 23). “Will they convert these words into action or is this a public relations move responding to the mood across the nation?” the article asked. “Are more benevolent corporations what society needs or … do we instead need an effective and empowered government?”
