Former Fellow Corene Kendrick (’03), an attorney with the Prison Law Office, was interviewed by the Phoenix New Times about a $1.2 million fine the Arizona Department of Corrections owes for failing to provide inmates with decent medical care (“Facing $1.2 Million Fine, ADC Blames Corizon-Centurion Handoff for Its Failures,” Aug. 21). “The case was settled five years ago, and they’re still not compliant,” said Corene, who is a co-counsel in the case.
