Suzanne Nossel Writes on Joaquin Castro Naming Trump Donors

Former Fellow Suzanne Nossel (‘97), chief executive officer of PEN America, wrote an op-ed for The New York Times on Rep. Joaquin Castro’s (D-Texas) viral tweet in the wake of the El Paso, Texas, shootings that named 44 residents from San Antonio who made maximum contributions to the Trump campaign and which many have called harassment (“Joaquin Castro’s Tweet Was Not Doxxing,” Aug. 9). “It’s fair to question whether Mr. Castro’s tweet was prudent or decorous,” Suzanne wrote. “But to refer to it as doxxing or online harassment is inaccurate, and sows confusion over what online abuse actually looks like. It is far worse than this.”
