Former Fellow Omar Jadwat (’02), director of the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, was quoted in a New York Times story about the Trump administration extending the use of an immigration law to expedite the deportation of immigrants who cannot prove they have stayed in the U.S. for at least two years (“Trump Administration Expands Fast-Tracked Deportations for Undocumented Immigrants,” July 22). The rule would allow the deportation of U.S. immigrants “with less due process than people get in traffic court,” Omar said.
