Haben Girma Speaks on Experiences Advocating for Disabled Rights

Former Fellow Haben Girma (’13) spoke to Amazon News about her book, Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law, detailing her experiences as a deaf-blind person standing up to ableism throughout college, law school and her career as a disability rights lawyer (“Author Fishbowl With Haben Girma,” July 26). “It’s not just a Democratic [or] Republican issue. Anyone can become disabled at any time,” Haben said. “Our bodies constantly change and we deserve access at every stage of our lives.”
