Catherine Powell Writes on Trump Using Women’s Rights as a Tactic

Former Fellow Catherine Powell (’94) co-authored a story in Just Security criticizing President Trump’s immigration policies, which he defends by selectively referring to instances of human-trafficking at the U.S.-Mexico border (“Trump Builds Support for Border Wall on the Backs of Women,” July 23). “In reality, a wall, whether physical or bureaucratic, is not the answer to human trafficking,” Catherine wrote. “However, if Trump is truly committed to addressing trafficking in persons, he has the position and resources to do so.”
