Carl Charles Discusses Case of Mother Suing Transgender Daughter

Former Fellow Carl Charles (’14) was featured on a “Let’s Go There” podcast focused on a Minnesota mother’s three-year legal battle over her transgender teen daughter emancipating herself and then obtaining gender transition care (“Mom Suing Daughter for Transitioning,” July 19). The mother, who claims her parental due process rights were violated by medical providers and the school district, is taking her fight to the U.S. Supreme Court. “I think [this case] is a pretty prime example of the far-right extremist agenda about trying to prevent access for trans young people to the medical care they need and have a right to,” Carl said.
