Former Fellow Steven Choi (’04) wrote an op-ed for the New York Daily News calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to support a proposal to allow undocumented immigrants in New York to obtain driver’s licenses ("Governor, Show Some Political Courage and Fight for Driver’s Licenses for All," June 12) and quoted in a separate news article ("NY Assembly Passes Measure Granting Undocumented Immigrants Access to Driver’s Licenses," June 12). "The fact is 12 other states … allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses. It’s also a fact that in those states, there have been fewer traffic fatalities and a drop in uninsured drivers — meaning it will make roads safer for all New Yorkers," Steven wrote.
