Brian Highsmith Calls for Federal Funding for Local Schools

Fellow Brian Highsmith (’17) published an article on the funding of local public schools in the Buffalo Law Review (“The Implications of Inequality for Fiscal Federalism (or Why the Federal Government Should Pay for Local Public Schools),” April 2019). “This paper ... suggests that policymakers should respond to rising income inequality by shifting not only the burden but also the site of redistributive taxation,” Brian wrote. Brian also was quoted in The Middletown Press about the fees prisoners are charged to make phone calls (“Company Will Allow Free Calls for CT Prison Inmates if Approved,” May 23).
