Ellen Gallagher Profiled by The Intercept

Former Fellow Ellen Gallagher (’91), who recently discussed on NBC News her decision to come forward to share that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was placing civil immigrant detainees in solitary confinement, has since been profiled by several publications, including The Intercept (“A Homeland Security Whistleblower Goes Public About ICE Abuse of Solitary Confinement,” May 21). “Ellen Gallagher was stunned when she first learned that immigrants detained by ICE were sometimes placed in isolation with no human contact for 22 hours a day,” the story says.
