Former Fellow Clare Pastore (’89) wrote an op-ed for the Los Angeles Daily Journal and San Francisco Daily Journal in support of Los Angeles establishing and funding a right to counsel for tenants, arguing that it would lessen the number of evictions and reduce displacement and homelessness (“A Right to Counsel in Evictions: LA Can Do It Too,” April 3). “Providing a right to counsel for tenants expands access to justice, saves public resources and protects vulnerable tenants,” Clare wrote.
