Elizabeth Kristen Helps File Title IX Athletics Class Action

Former Fellow Elizabeth Kristen (’02) helped file a Title IX athletics class action case in December, alleging inequities for female athletes at Hawaii’s most populous high school. The case has received widespread media attention, including in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser (“Lawsuit for Hawaii Female High School Athletes Continues Mink’s Fight,” Dec. 7). “The class-action suit accuses the Department of Education of shortchanging female athletes by denying them equal facilities and opportunities in sports — and for retaliating against students when they complained,” the story said.
