Former Fellow Omar Jadwat (’02) was quoted in a New York Times article regarding President Trump’s recent order effectively barring undocumented migrants from Mexico from qualifying for asylum (“US Rights Groups Seek to Block Trump Asylum Order,” Nov. 9). “President Trump’s new asylum ban is illegal,” Omar said. “Neither the president nor his cabinet secretaries can override the clear commands of U.S. law, but that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.”
