Leigh Goodmark Authors Book on Domestic Violence

Former Fellow Leigh Goodmark (’95) published a book, Decriminalizing Domestic Violence, that investigates how and why the criminal legal system became the primary response to intimate partner violence. The book shows the ways in which the system harms victims and drives violence, and provides a potential roadmap to reform. Leigh also has written extensively about the expiration of the Violence Against Women Act, including a recent op-ed on TheConversation.com (“The Violence Against Women Act Is Unlikely to Reduce Intimate Partner Violence — Here’s Why,” Oct. 17).
