Former Fellow Nina Perales (’90) was quoted in a New York Times story about a federal action filed by Texas and eight other states seeking to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (“Can DACA Survive Its Latest Legal Attack in Texas?” August 9). Nina, who is leading the defense against the suit, told the Times, “Texas was not able to point to evidence that DACA recipients are costing the state anything, and in fact the evidence in the case is that ... Texas overall is better with DACA recipients.”
