Jess Hanson Helps Immigrants Secure Right to State ID Cards

Fellow Jess Hanson (’16) helped secure a favorable summary judgment order in Valenzuela v. Ducey allowing certain immigrants to obtain Arizona driver’s licenses and identification cards. The order permanently enjoins the state from denying licenses and IDs to individuals with (c)(14) work permits, which are issued to immigrants who receive non-DACA deferred action. Jess argued part of the motion, and the order contained language she put forward in her papers, a deposition she took and her oral arguments.
