Vivek Sankaran and Joshua Kay Win Case for Disabled Parent

Former Skadden Fellows Vivek Sankaran ('01) and Joshua Kay ('08) helped obtain a victory in a Michigan Supreme Court case. The court's decision vacated the termination of an intellectually disabled person's rights to her children, concluding that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) failed to provide promised services to accommodate her disability and that HHS must make efforts to "reunify a family before seeking termination of parental rights."
