The National Lawyers Guild Massachusetts Chapter will present incoming Skadden Fellow Derecka Purnell ('17) with the Student Award at its Annual Testimonial Dinner on May 12. It noted the Harvard Law student's leadership role in the Movement for Black Lives and participation in the Ferguson uprising. She will bring impact litigation to challenge police practices and overbroad criminal laws as a Skadden Fellow at the Advancement Project.
