Former Skadden fellow Suzanne Bolanos ('89) has been profiled by the Daily Journal ("San Francisco County Judge Suzanne R. Bolanos Checks Herself Daily for Unconscious Bias," Sept. 23). The profile outlined Suzanne's legal career, from her time as one of two Latina students at Yale Law School to her tenure on the bench after becoming San Francisco County Superior Court's first Latina judge. "Bolanos' commitment to equality and diversity requires daily commitment and self-awareness," the profile said. "'I have an obligation, daily, to check my unconscious bias,' Bolanos said. 'When making rulings, I ask myself, 'Would I be making this decision if the parties were differently situated?'"
