Rachael Langston Authors Article on Assistive Animals

Former Skadden Fellow Rachael Langston ('08) authored an article for the Daily Journal about the benefits of and laws governing employers' responsibilities regarding accommodating assistive animals ("Assistive Animals at Work: A Reasonable Accommodation," Aug. 21). "In the workplace, assistive animals can be central to an employee's ability to perform her job while maintaining her health and enjoying the benefits and privileges of employment enjoyed by her coworkers," the article said. "However, employers are often unclear about the legal requirements surrounding assistive animals, which at times can lead to denial of this important accommodation in cases where it could benefit both the employee and the employer."
